Video Games Week 9

Video games are a good way to kick back and enjoy some time to relax either by yourself or with friends but I believe there is a point where video games become an obsession. Whether one plays Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, or the old Mario games, etc., video games in today’s day in age have become an addiction for people aging from a very young child to older adults.
I have friends that love to play video games but there comes a point in time where they just do not know when to stop the game. I understand that having friends over for the night to play some and chill out is fun but this should have a limit.
I think that with all of the new graphics in technology today games can seem almost life-like sometimes. There are so many different games, particularly angled towards guys that are all about shooting and killing. I mean come on when there are games out like Grand Theft Auto out and kids are running around shooting gun in real life because they want their games to be more life-like then we should know there is a problem that needs to be fixed. Adult wonder why young kids are becoming more aware of sex and crimes and a younger age. I know that video games are not the only cause to this and I am not saying that I am totally against video games but there should be some type of personal restriction on them.

  1. This is a very interesting topic. I'm not sure whether or not I can completely buy the link between video games and violence, but I certainly think they aren't helping at all.

The key is moderation. I think that's what you're saying.

Addiction is an interesting study. Good topic.
